Doula UK has a budget to assist our doulas that work for clients in their local community who do not have the means to employ a doula. This might be because the family's only income is from State benefits. This assistance is in the form of a small financial contribution towards the costs that the doula incurs during her work for that client, currently set at a maximum of £100 per application. This money will be given to the doula after completion of her work. Parents are welcome, but under no obligation, to pay up to an extra £50 to the doula herself.
Doulas are encouraged to donate money to this fund when they can. If clients appreciated the doula support that they received and would like to help others who cannot afford to pay for a doula service, contributions are gratefully received.
If you would like to make a donation, please send (to the PO Box address) a cheque, payable to "Doula UK" with your name, address and telephone number clearly written on the reverse or on the enclosed documentation. Please also ensure that you write that your donation is specifically for the "hardship fund" so that it will not get included with general running costs income - thank you.
If you are a doula and a member of our network and wish to apply for the hardship grant, please go to the Members' Section to download an application form from there.
